First Song Out There! (And Lessons Learned)

Today, as scheduled, my first song got published in Spotify - and some other platforms for sure, but I just checked Spotify... Here is the link, hope you like it! Big Bang on Spotify Now, a few things catching my attention that might need fixing... First, I feel my song is a little bit too quiet compared to others around... I have been mixing for a final Integrated LUFS around -20dB, so I guess I should target something higher instead, maybe around -16dB. Not a big issue, at least I can't hear clipping or other conversion artifacts Second, lyrics don't show up - in Spotify at least - but that might be part of the processing time of the platform for lyrics, as well as the ability to claim my artist's page which I still can't... I supposed those would happen sometime this week Third, DistroKid HyperFollow page, which seems like a good idea, can't be used for already published songs? The one for Big Bang ( https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/jc6beats/big-bang ) still say...

Lyrics Uploaded and Synced in DistroKids

Quick update on my first attempt to publish a song to streaming platforms... I uploaded the lyrics to DistroKid yesterday or the day before... it got finally processed today and the synching option got enabled

I must admit my first couple of attempts felt a little bit awkward, but once I got used to how it works it went out quite naturally, so kudos there guys!

I also noticed a couple of lines were missing from the lyrics I uploaded originally, so I added it expecting a wait time for DistroKid to process it, but this change showed up green almost immediately and I was able to proceed with the synching

Right now it seems we're ready to go... can't wait for May 9th 😜

Where am I going to...

As mentioned in a previous post, amateur musicians like me now have the possibility of easily - at least from a tools perspective - composing and producing almost any kind of music they feel inclined to... but even more, with the success of Spotify and other streaming platforms you can also publish and share your songs with the whole world! And that's my next step... not to become famous or earn money, that's beyond my wildest dreams! But to understand how all this thing works, kind of a research project A few initial finds that somehow shocked me were: It is reasonably cheap to start (I'll post from time to time how much I have expended into it) The existence of companies that track any usage of your music all over Internet The many streaming services are out there, besides the obvious ones How fuzzy seems to be the match between you and your accounts in those services As an example of that last bullet, I remember watching a YouTube video where someone mentioned his song w...

AD18 - What it is About?

Just like in physics we believe there is a set of laws, some still unknown, that rule everything from elemental particles to full galaxies, it could be thought there is a similar set of laws that might rule history... and stories Imagine the same equations or principles could explain, even if we are never able to understand them, every event, from human evolution, to relationships, to that party with your friends, or even you sitting at home feeling blue for whatever reason If such laws exists we should be able to draw parallelisms between human experiences at all levels, concepts and situations that, at some level, look the same or converge into a unique idea... Moreover, ff those laws eventually merge with the physic ones, it would be probably bad news for humankind and free will In any case, AD18 is my own attempt to explore and play with that fundamental concept... a playlist of 6 or 7 songs related between them and somehow mapped to bigger than life stages I don't expect succe...
